The Blog

Jaedia’s Menagerie comes from the idea that I wanted my blog title to say something about me without restricting me to any specific theme. I’m an avid pet and mount collector and I love the creatures in this game, and for that matter any other, and therefore ‘Jaedia’s Menagerie’ was decided upon. Originally, and for about a year, this blog was known as ‘The Lazy Sniper’, started 10/8/09. This was a name born from my then Survival Hunter main (think ‘Sniper Training’), and even after my reroll just stayed around. It wasn’t until my domain ran out and I had a few problems that it was pointed out to me that that was the right time to rename if that was what I had planned to do. So I did.. after a month or so of the site being down (long story, short version is that I was stuck in Wales for a bit).

Ingame

Whilst I wanted my blog’s name to be generic enough to suit the kinds of things I liked to write about (see: pretty much anything that gives me inspiration), my Shadow Priest is my main. You will notice that I’m a big altoholic. I like to mix up my game a bit, if I play the same class constantly for a long time, I get bored. So, I level and play alts – I like to see the other classes, and keep things interesting. It’s probably why I’m still playing after so many years. I also enjoy doing achievements and collecting things, a little bit of raiding, and gold making.

Me

In IRL land, I enjoy writing. My lifelong goal is, in fact, to be a published author. I don’t particularly care how popular I am, but I would like to be able to point people towards Amazon or Smiths and be all, “Hey, that’s my novel if you’re interested!” Call me weird, but it’s the only goal I really have (aside from the usual live a comfortable life and be happy but who doesn’t have that one?). I love to read, and admittedly, World of Warcraft did kill my love of reading for a while. I’d log in and play instead of sit down with a book for a fair few years but thankfully, the incredible amounts of boredom Wrath produced rekindled my love of reading so, I will never say that Wrath was the worst expansion because it did get me doing some non-gamey things. Ha. Primarily I like fantasy but really, I will read just about anything. My favourite book is 1984 and I love Pratchett – work it out from there.
