Jae Goes A’Gearing

I had a lot of fun writing about my WoW updates last week so I thought I’d do another about my Mage since dinging 90!

I so have a little girl crush on Wrathion *licks*

The first thing I did was made sure she had all the craftables available.. apart from the Jewelcrafting neck and rings because I always seem to replace them uber fast, though I regretted that a few days later when I’d still had no luck with a ring and ended up crafting one and using justice points to buy another! I’d bought the Inscription offhand and crafted the two epics on my Priest for her, though Dan wanted to send me a gift of the same gloves so I equipped his and sold the ones I made for 1900g which is a nice little boost towards the Brelly Yak I’m saving for!

Next I believe I did some dailies with Dan.. no! I tell a lie, a bunch of us went to Icecrown 25 for Rippur’s legendary quest and transmog. We all hopped on Mumble and had a laugh. Rip got a fair bit done for his quest which was awesome, I got a handful of weapons and 3 tokens towards the normal mode Mage tier 10. It was a good night. So good then we went off and did Sunwell, where I got that gorgeous book offhand, and Black Temple afterwards. Funtimes!

Friday I finally had the chance to start doing some gearing and popped into a few heroics. I got a couple of upgrades that evening (I think? Or was that Thursday?), and more fun was had. I believe we also did Mogushan Vaults LFR on Friday as well which is where I tested out Arcane, got a trinket, flailed about looking for decent guides and blogs and such for Mage advice, and a very wise Mage on Twitter reminded me that so long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters, damage is still high anyway. So yeah, fuck Arcane, I’m staying Frost. It’s a little higher than Fire at the moment and a lot of fun. Arcane’s too.. stand still and spam this for my liking. *yawn*

Saturday I suddenly remembered it was Saturday and tried to get the Saturdayist or whatever it’s called and also hoped for some nommy loots in the little boxes. There were 3 or 4 of us in rotation and we did 8 scenarios towards the guild goal which was awesome, and had a good chat on Mumble with Steve and a newer guildy who is turning out to be a fun person. I like her. Didn’t get much gear doing random scenarios but lots of achievements, a pair of 463 ilvl bracers and I’m just 3 off the Saturday achievement now which I can specific another Saturday.

Shortly after this one was taken, those two started pressing space bar. A lot. Hilarious!

I believe it was also Saturday when I was in Ironforge (it’s been pointed out to me that Ironforge is a much nicer place to chill and do auctions than Stormwind because “portal plz mage” gets really annoying) and a Gnome started waving at me! This is nothing new. Gnomes wave at me quite often so I smiled at it and then I was asked if I was Jaedia from Twitter! ‘Scuse my excitement but this was my first CRZ meeting with anybody. It turned out to be Nev from AH Addict and we had a nice little chat. /wave! :D

I spent a lot of Sunday finishing off Dread Wastes to make sure I’d unlocked all of the Klaxxi dailies and rep I could while queuing for specific dungeons, I’d found myself a little unlucky the previous few days so decided as I was valor capped it’d be best if I queued for dungeons that I could actually get drops from. By the end of the night I was 1 ilvl off being able to do Heart of Fear and ToeS LFR (thanks Love Dungeon!), so today I specifically queued for a few more and got myself a hat! So Dan and myself pootled off and did the first part of HoF. I still haven’t done the rest of LFR because we spent the evening doing Naxx 25 with a few of us, as well as Sarth 3D 25, Malygos 25 and a little later myself and Kait did Trial 10 man. Again, a lot of fun and I picked up soo many shinies my bank is crying! Here’s my new transmog as a result:

I’m really happy with it! I was running around in full tier 6 before because I’d struggled to come up with something unique but this works for me. It’s a nice mix of all sorts and yeah – yay! I’ve put in a lot of effort to gear this fast (the joys of being unemployed?) and I’m really pleased with how far little Jae has come in such a short time. She’s about ready to start joining in with guild raids! Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me for the rest of LFR tomorrow. Now I’m off to level a panda Rogue for a little project which I may talk about another time. :3

Move Aside Apathy

I promised one Miss Kaitz that I would blog on the Menagerie. Okay so that was a week ago and I was supposed to tell you about the adventures of Pinky but I thought it might be nice to talk a little about what I’m upto right now, because what I’m upto often seems to elude many.

Honourary picture of Pinky on the fish bike

I suppose I’d grown bored. Dailies had killed my spirit and all there was was raiding and the endless grind so I’d backed away a bit. Again. I’d even considered cancelling my payment until I wanted to play again but thankfully I didn’t and over Christmas I actually did a few dailies because I felt like it. When I got back home in January I was all ready to carry on watching through Supernatural and I figured why not farm Skyshards while I do that? So I did. I got one then decided to do dailies with that time instead. Then I had a brief addiction to the Walking Dead game.. I say brief because I played it until I reached the end (I still owe you guys a blog post on this game, it’s absolutely amazing). Then decided I really should level my Death Knight if she’s going to be doing transmog runs.

Levelling

Soupdragon had almost gotten to 86 before being pushed aside and abandoned for the apathy so it was only natural that I came to her first of my two 85′s. I ran through Jade Forest, Krasarang Wilds (which finally netted me Loremaster of Pandaria yay!), Valley of the Four Winds and finally, Dread Wastes where I died.. died.. and died again. I had to force myself but I got her to 90 and then decided I was happy and wanted to gear my Hunter.

Huntering

Kaitz runs a fair few transmog runs on her wolf-lady Death Knight and asked me one night if I’d like to come along for the Illidan bow so I did. It was a lot of fun! Kait met Snowflake and Baskilisk, we talked about politics and cookies, and discovered that I am in fact a glaive magnet. (Grats Kait on your glaive! Our mine, if Toman’s gtmod is to be believed xD) Yep, a glaive dropped! Woo!

Dan has the offhand, Kait has the mainhand, I was there for both. I am.. the Glaive Magnet

We did Naxx 10, and on the next reset did it all again along with Mogushan Vaults LFR where I got a hat. It’s mucho fun, but see.. Reliq wants a Mage for raids and I have a Mage.. I would have stuck with my Priest who is very well geared considering all that apathy (aside from her hat) but I believe another lovely guildy is wanting to reroll to her Shadow Priest and there are many Hunters everywhere as is *sad*.

Maging

So next up, I decided to speedy-level my Mage. You have no idea how glad I am to be rid of frickin’ Twylite the Blood Elf Mage who on entering random groups I had to inform them that I named her before I’d heard of the crappy sparkly vampires.. but that Jewelcrafting daily with the sparkles? Yeah, she was often glittering. Sigh. Anyway! Jaedia the Draenei Mage is much cooler. She was never abandoned, her professions are all levelled up and useful, she has some wicked transmog pieces and I really enjoyed levelling her the first time (hi Steve!). She has good memories.

I forget whether I started her in Jade Forest on Thursday or Friday.. Actually I think it was late on Thursday night, I didn’t do very much but I got started then Friday dinged 86, today she’ll ding 90. That might be the fastest I’ve levelled a character from 85-90 without going without sleep and other vital things! The Darkmoon Faire roundabout definitely helped.

“Time for bed,” said Zebedee

And Frost has somehow become an amazing spec! It’s as fun as Fire with all its crits and procs, and I get to play around with transmog again. I was way too happy with my Fire Mage transmog to change it. Dan and Rip helped me through Black Temple and Mount Hyjal for tier 6 a few days ago and I (*cough* jammy git) picked up all 5 pieces and my Draenei Mage looks wicked in it! Last night a few were doing ICC for transmog fun and.. well.. I know I should have been levelling but I can’t say no to ICC sooo I went along and picked up a few weapons including a mad looking wand which I think possibly scares Reliq going by his reaction, so I’ll definitely be using that if I have a wand.

Left to right: Ysaera, me, Rippur, Severiti and Splish

As for now, I’m hoping to give guild raiding another shot. I picked up a bunch of BoE stuff for my Mage when she gets to 90 and she had about 3500 Justice Points leftover from Cataclysm that I’m fairly sure I had been saving up, plus come tomorrow I’ll get in a Sha group pretty easily so I think she’s going to be geared. Note: If any Ghostlands folk notice the intellect Darkmoon Faire trinket for a decent price (less than 9k), please let me know! And can start joining back in with guild raids sooner rather than later. :)

03/08-10/08 in WoW

Wooee! This past week I’ve got quite a lot done. We worked out the terrible lag issue I was having (we switched the USB wireless thingies and I’m fine now, doesn’t seem to affect Dan so much) which is fantastic even if I did miss Bastion of Twilight because I physically couldn’t play. *sob* Will definitely plan a run of that again at some point.

Priest

The big news of the week is my Priest’s successful faction change and transfer to Human and Ghostlands. I was terrified after some bad race change experiences in the past and what with Seithir being the character I’m most attached to but in the end I adored it. I spent ages squeeing over my changed mounts and getting on with Darkmoon Faire dailies and doing a couple of instances. I didn’t realise she could still benefit from Valor Point gear!

I also finally got the Sea Pony on her and the Darkmoon Turtle. Decided to speed up the DMF pet gaining process by also doing the dailies on my Mage and Death Knight though I’ve been slacking with Soup. My Mage, however, got the Darkmoon Cub so that’s 3 more down and I might be able to get one more tomorrow. I’m still undecided between the monkey and the balloon.. I’m not a big monkey fan.

Mage

Well we’ve really done well with our levelling in the past week! (SPEED LEVELLING! WOO!) We were just starting Wrath content this time last week but at the time of writing this post we’re very close to 83 which is amazing. I can’t wait to finally be 85 and able to get on with working on the LFR Time Lord set for transmog in the future. Any help obtaining that one appreciated!

Professions

I’ve worked on Jaedia’s professions as much as I’ve had time for. The economy on Ghostlands is a bit worse for wear but I’m struggling along. Enchanting is up to 382, just hoping Infinite Dust becomes less than 12g a piece soon. Starting to regret snubbing it at 9g a piece on Twitter earlier. And Jewelcrafting is up to 100 which allowed me to do the Darkmoon Faire Jewelcrafting quest. Okay, so 105 then. I don’t believe I’ve touched Soupy’s professions the past week but there’s a bit of ore and dust floating around after all of the transfers recently.

Gold

Brought over 50k and a few bits to sell when I transferred! So this is on the rise though I’m no where near ready to start getting back into the market properly. Having close to 60k gold is nice though.

Guild

Dan’s transferred his Paladin over and a mutual friend seems to be planning to bring his over as well. Also, Reliq seems to be a little scared of poor little Soupy. She only wanted a hug!

A Sidenote

I just found my bucket list summary from just before Cataclysm hit and it made me a little sad. I had achieved so much at this point and I was so very excited for the prospect of Cataclysm and I ended up so disappointed that I don’t think I hit many of the new goals I had set at all. It’s a shame but I’d like to keep my goals realistic and maintain a calm enjoyment of Mists with an awesome group of people. That is, after all, my main goal in this game.

27/07-03/08 in WoW

The past week in Jae’s world.

Recruitment:

I invited a social who’s pretty friendly and sent another guy over to the forums to apply as a raider. I also invited a friend of Dan’s as a social. Doing good! It would be nice if folk who portrayed interest in joining to raid would actually apply when sent to the forums but hey ho. We’ll get there.

And just a note: If you happen to be looking for a friendly and mature (well.. as mature as can be) guild for either social players or casual raiders on Alliance EU then please do check out Harvest Moon! I promise we’re lovely and a lot of fun.

Stuff to Do:

Naxx run a-go-go. We ran Naxx on Monday night and it was a lot of fun despite myself running on the spot most of the run. I believe the others went ahead to Sarth 10 3D and Malygos afterwards but I had to call it a night there. Next week we’ll be running Bastion of Twilight!

Priest:

Well I completed Blasted Lands quests which was cool but still no progress on transferring. I spent a while worrying I’ll end up quitting if I do it and Dan decides he really doesn’t want to, then I remembered how much I just want to play with the Moonies and started worrying over money issues. I’d very much like to move her for the Bastion run in the week.

Mage:

Myself and Ethan (Steve? Ys? :p) did a lot of levelling! Sometimes we’ll just group up and chat while we quest at the same time. We can’t quest together being cross realm but that’s not a problem. We’re still levelling together which is the fun part, and I prefer questing solo anyway. Other times we’ll queue up for dungeons, kick some arse while singing songs. I’ll lag like mad (which is annoying but eh) and we’ll ding away. We’ll be up to LFR to get my LFR Time Lord set in no time.. gawd I want that set for transmog. *fingers crossed* But yes, we’ve made it upto Wrath level content now which is awesome and I have finally out-levelled my Horde Mage too. I’ve been working on her Enchanting and I think she’s going to become my Jewelcrafter on Ghostlands.

Gold:

I have actually made a start on gold making again. Though I have very limited resources at the moment, I’ll auction anything I can, work out what’s good for transmog sales and what’s best to just disenchant based on prices. I’ve been selling what I make to skill up with and working on skilling up professions too. Though it’s a slightly weird one, I’ve decided to keep Enchanting on my Mage and Death Knight despite moving my Enchanting/Tailoring Priest over soon because then I am guaranteed to have a disenchanter for quests and dungeon runs. I’d like to move my Paladin over some time as well as she has all of the currently available glyphs for Inscription and then I need to work on levelling Alchemists, a gathering character, a Jewelcrafter and at some point a Leatherworker as well.

The Joy of a New Alt

I thought you guys might like to meet that smexy Space Goat staring provocatively from my header image. Okay, perhaps provocative isn’t the word, but she’s my cute little Wagglebum. That.. sounded less creepy in my head.

Those of you who’ve followed me for any length of time, either on Twitter or through this blog, will know that I’m a bit of an altoholic. Perhaps less so this expansion (would you believe that I’ve only managed to get 3 of my characters to 85 after my seven level 80s in Wrath?) but even so, I do like to mix up my World of Warcraft play time a little bit and trying different classes is a great way to go about that. I even post about them a lot, heck, they have their own category!

So for ages I’ve been missing the blue side of the fence. The red side is great, don’t get me wrong, I do love my Blood Elves and their great and terrifying city and my insane little Goblin folk and the cow people, but I’ve always been a little more blue than I am red. (Is this sounding like some kind of communist vs. capitalist thought chain to anybody else?) My characters on Terenas have pretty much been abandoned because I don’t feel like I have a place there any more. The server itself feels.. off and poor little Soupdragon is left on her own at level 82. So when I mentioned on Twitter that I felt like playing Alliance side one day and Rel popped up all, “Come play with me and Wabby!!” I was like.. well yeah why not? And as weird as I find their overpriced and max-level-epic-lacking auction house, Ghostlands seems like a pretty nice server as far as servers go.

I didn’t take too long to decide that it was time I levelled a Mage. I’ve always been kind of drawn to the class but it’s one of those that I get really into for a few levels then something shiny grabs my attention and it’s left for a while.. rinse and repeat, so this time, I’m going to do it and I’m loving it. She had to be a Draenei. Duh. *waggle* And she had to have my name. As I’m playing her a lot at the moment, she has her own part in the sidebar where you can see what she’s upto and she’s featured in the header because.. well Blood Elves eyes are closed in my version of WoW Model Viewer and that looked stupid so yeah.

I do already have a Mage at 67 on my main server but I.. I don’t like my main server. It’s a PvP server, which I can’t stand, it’s full of the type of people you really don’t enjoy grouping with.. basically, Vashj EU is that server. The one that when you get somebody from the realm in your random dungeon finder groups you can’t help but think, “Oh god, not somebody from that server.” You know the ones I’m sure. But myself and Dan have a bunch of our characters there so you know. Still, I don’t enjoy levelling there very much or playing there so it’s doubtful that Twylite (another reason I don’t really play her) will ever get much further than 67. So Jaedia the.. well I was going to say third but if you count other MMOs I suppose it’s more like Jaedia the 7th, was born.

So anyway, the first order of the day was of course to get the feck out of the Draenei starting zone which by now I hate with a bitter passion and then rustle up enough gold to get by on this new server. Rel had invited my Mage into his guild, Harvest Moon (of which I’m determined to get to level 25 FOR TEH LIONS :3 ..that and I’d love to help get a few more members for the 10 man team and maybe some friendly social folk), and a couple of his lovely friends offered me a little help. I didn’t really want to ask for gold because that’s easy enough but bag space I was struggling with so they sent me a few bags. <3 That was a massive help. And then I went off and sold the Moongraze Tenderloin recipe for 500g, a couple of moths, a few cats and a Moss Agate or two and hey presto I had 800g before I’d made it to level 30. I’m down to 400g now but that was the whole point of making the gold in the first place.

I had to question Twitter on what to spec because I’m now a bit clueless. It was always Frost before and I’ve been semi-absent from the game for so long I just wasn’t sure. The general consensus seems to be that Frost is great for solo play but Arcane is fun as hell especially in a group situation and considering I do use the random dungeon finder a lot while levelling, that’s what I went with. It is pretty damn fun, especially now that I’ve talked myself out of using Arcane Missiles unless very oom and am actually able to keep up on the meters a little now. And the grouping is.. unusual. I’ve had to deal with the very silent, the very bad, the very weird (see: picture of horny guy in Gnomer), and the rare group that’s actually been a little friendly. At 34, nearing 35, I’m getting to the sort of level where you bump into folk who would like to run a few dungeons with the same semi-competent group and I’ve had a couple of those now (even if one of the tanks was called “Battyboy” and the other turned out to be stoned according to his friend).

I’ve also had to look at actually levelling professions as I go. I tend to find it easier to do that than pick them up later on. And instead of taking the easy option of dual-gathering professions and sell the results, I picked up Tailoring and Enchanting. So considering my lack of heirlooms, that’s clearly led to a lot of focus on getting my Robe of Power. I probably didn’t need to, sure, but once I decided I was going for it, I was bloody determined even if it did mean buying a bunch of 20g stacks of Wool and Silk. I mentioned the scary Ghostlands auction house, right? Well I finally completed my robe last night and ran a couple of dungeons and she is totally badass. I’m really enjoying this Mage and her transmog set is going to be fab!

An early idea after playing with MogIt

Fantasmical Friday #4

Honestly guys, this is one of those weeks that has simply passed me by. I start browsing the internet and then “Whoops! Where did the day go?”

Earlier in the week I played my Hunter a fair bit. I’d decided that while she’s still Alliance, I should get Old Ironjaw to save messing around in Ironforge when she’s Horde. I installed Fishing Buddy, configured it and off I went. It took me about 150 casts and then I fancied a bit more fishing, as I’d also tried the STV fishing contest the same day and failed miserably to a Druid who fished in everybody’s pools *grumble*, so I had the fishing bug and went off to try and get a turtle. That didn’t last too long. I tried out Marksman in a couple of dungeons and it was okay but I found it a little frustrating after playing Survival, and I wasn’t completely feeling Survival either, so I tried Beastmastery and hooboy was that a good fit. I wanted something that would quickly kill things while levelling as opposed to waiting “patiently” for Aimed Shot to cast yet again, and this was just.. wow. I love it! Plus I can now use Loque’nahak (or BLUE GLOW KITTY as I affectionately call him) finally who I named Ailuros after a cat in my NaNoWriMo story. So that was some fun.

I also boosted Dan in Blackrock Spire to get us both the two pets and sod it, while we were there, some whelps died too. Kalithe has a title - yay!

And last night as Dan had finally got up to level 60 ish, I did a couple of instances with him on my Mage (that would be ‘Twylite’). I did mention this on twitter but you don’t all follow me there or catch everything I ever tweet, so I’m specced Arcane. I wanted a taste of how overpowered it is before it’s hit with the nerfbat (read: very). I think personally the fun in Mage is actually the utility rather than the playstyle. Having various survival cooldowns, buffs, dps cooldowns, Mirror Images, polymorph (I have an animal lottery macro for that), the ability to make free food, portals, that’s where the fun lies. The great damage is just icing. Anyway so there was this Rogue in the party. He’s doing about a third of my damage and obsessing over how Dan has 10k health on his level 64 tank and basically calling him sad for having 30 stam gems in his gear and such, and suddenly after the first boss tells me that I should go Frost. If there are two things I dislike, it is being called by my class (which he did but I let it slide because I still prefer ‘mage’ to ‘Twylite’), and being told what I “should” do. The guy was very difficult to understand and eventually asked if anybody speaks Swedish and spammed “hor” in party chat about twenty times before he was vote kicked and the Shaman informed us that it meant whore in Swedish.. Whether it did or not we don’t know or particularly care but yeah, he was rather odd. Thankfully the rest of the party was lovely. It was a shame Dan had to leave else we’d probably have done one or two more with those guys.

I’m still focusing on my Hunter though, despite the Maging, I just want her to be a Goblin already! I am quite glad that she already has the Midsummer pet and achievements because we’re going away on the 23rd til the 28th or 29th so we’ll miss a week of it, and probably the beginning of 4.2 as well. I’m not too worried about that though.

World of Ponycraft

Designing and sharing ponies on the pony creator (enjoy your new addiction!) became a bit of a thing on twitter last week and since then Norm has written a post over at Flavor Text which fantastically looks at the comparisons between our ingame characters, why a lot of us choose fanmade art, and the pony creator. Kamalia made a response post as well.

I also made my Blood Elf Death Knight, Kalithe:

I don’t want to make Fae as her Draenei self because I don’t want to get too attached to her before she goes Goblin, but trust me, she’s on her way to being short and green.

Somebody always has to get in the way of the perfect picture. Always.

Another handful of awesome posts!

And finally, a blog I came across this week that’s worth following:

Mage vs. Lock? Shadow Priests Don’t Care

This topic seems to be spreading, except I don’t know why as it’s an age old feud. Warlocks and Mages don’t like each other. Mages are all, “You’re totally copying us.” And Warlocks are all, “Nuh-uh, we have demon pets!” And Mages are all, “Yeah well *points at water elemental*” Then Warlocks are all, “… lame asses, that isn’t a pet.” Then everybody punts the Gnomes, at least that’s what I’ve been lead to believe. You know who hasn’t been mentioned once? The Shadow Priests. That’s right, because they know that they are the cooler clothy.

Deep down I love casters. I always have. When I first started playing WoW, it was my very first game really, and I wanted to be one of the magic users, the fact that Warlocks had pets won me over in the beginning, but after a few months I realised I’d made a mistake, I didn’t like my Warlock and I wanted to roll a Priest so roll a Priest I did. Of course, these days with my Warlock being a race I’m more comfortable with, a name I’m accustomed to, and the playstyle has improved a lot since I was playing, I do enjoy Warlock quite a lot. I’ve never got a Mage past 41, in all of my altoholic years of playing WoW. Then there’s Shadow Priest, the one I played for almost all of TBC and a big chunk of Wrath, she’s collected a bunch of pets and mounts and titles that I struggle with on Fae and I’m still quite attached to her.

Last night, I was feeling ill, which always knocks my concentration, so I logged my priest to help Dan find a few rares for Frostbitten, that’s a nice simple task (we found 2, Loque’nahak and the vrykul woman in Grizzly Hills). After, as I’d been planning to anyway seeing as this year my Priest gets her 3rd pets for Azeroth and Outland, I decided to do the Children’s Week quests.

While I was running around, it felt familiar, especially since I changed her hair back to the way it was pre-barber shops. This was the character I played for almost the entire of TBC. I’ve collected a lot of things on her, including a few things Fae will never get (Hand of A’dal, Red Clockwork Bot, a few mounts and pets that are difficult to get). And if things go wrong? I can heal! Yes, she’s almost always been Shadow, with either a healy offspec, or a Shadow PvP offspec. I thought perhaps I could try and squeeze a bit of gear, after all her gear is still reasonably low and Tier 10 is pretty.. so I created a gear list of drops from Sartharion, Ulduar 10, TotC 10, TotC 25, Onyxia 25, and of course, Emblems of Frost. A couple of craftables too, just to get her gear up so hopefully pugs’ll let me in. Of course, I don’t want to reroll I’ve only just transferred my Hunter over to Alliance on Terenas but it’s nice playing a character I was so attached to after so long.

Positive PuG

I’ve been playing my mage, Twylite, a fair bit lately. It’s fun when you’re feeling a bit blah about the game to pop on an alt you haven’t really explored yet, get her spec, glyphs, gear just right, and attempt to top the meters in every random you do as Frost. Maybe that’s just me, I like damage meters, they make DPS classes fun for me.

Well, when I was about level 35 and Scarlet Monastery was all the rage, I queued, got in a group and lo and behold the warrior tank could hold aggro! I Blizzarded my little Blood Elf heart out, and we started chatting, the tank, me and the druid healer. We decided to stick with that group and re-queue for a few. The druid healer was a really nice guy, he gave both me and the tank some friendly advice, not the kind of advice you expect to find in a pug these days. He told me to try single targeting the mob with the most HP in a pack of 4 or less, I think it was along those lines, I’ve since adapted it anyway, and it has helped me in dungeons with my mana issues.

It was a lovely group and unusual to find that and have everybody want to stick around, well, everybody who counts. The silent hunter left at the end of the first one. The warrior was on my server, I added him to my friends list and chatted a little after we had finished. Shame he hasn’t really been online at the same time as me since because it would have been quite cool to queue up again together. Keep trying guys, there are good pugs out there!

And Then There Was Mage

Of course, I am a fickle person, suddenly something became shiny.. I’m very easily distracted. Meet my mage. The first blood elf I created. On the first day of TBC. She’s level 26 and I feel like I’m levelling an antique. It’s fun and I can’t believe in the past 3 years I haven’t levelled it yet.

A little about her name first, Twylite. This dates back to when I was doing my A levels (post-compulsory education, pre-university, for the non Brits reading). I was an avid English Literature geek and one of our English teachers decided to go to London for this Blake walk thing. In the morning we went to one of the art museums, which was semi-boring but at the same time I had some awesome friends with me who made the whole trip much more interesting. Halfway through the day, one of the other students was holding the map with the walk route on it, the tube went past, the map was sucked under onto the track. So for the rest of the day, a few of us went off to another museum, a modern art museum, with huge slides and strange things like that. Walking back across the Millenium bridge, I could see St. Paul’s Cathedral, by the light of twilight, the sun had just gone down and I commented how that was my favourite time of day because it’s so beautiful. I decided this would be the name for my mage then.

I wanted to make my first blood elf a mage because it was a class I hadn’t tried yet, everybody and their dog would be making blood elf paladins, which was a class I wanted to make, but when it had settled down a little, I basically chose mage because it would be different. At this point, my main was my undead warlock so I had no plans to reroll, however I got to about level 20ish and made a blood elf priest, which I levelled and made my main. My mage was left around this level for that long.

Saturday night I had an urge to play her, so I logged in, headed to Hillsbrad, and did a couple of random dungeons. I loved it. The mage class feels comfortable, which I’ve only ever felt with hunter and priest. Though, I’m starting to think I should level my 65 druid first, she’s so close already and I could use a herb/alchemist. Also enjoy the feral and tree dual speccing, kitty for questing, tree for instancing. Of course, my first priority at the moment is Loremaster, though it goes to show how much of an altaholic I am doesn’t it.
