Faerie Dragon Mount

Omigodohmigodohmigodohmigod I want one I want one!! When I saw the picture I thought it looked okay, but what the fuck is it? Then Dan made me watch the video. This mount is frickin’ amazing!! Just makes me sad that it’s more than probably going to be either TCG (*sob*) or Blizzard store, from which I’ve bought nothing since Celestial Steed.. when you’re unemployed with a mean book habit, there’s no spare cash for Banana Dragons and Creepy Flying Lions and Flying Closet Goats. But omigod isn’t it equally adorable and amazing looking? It poops rainbows for goodness sake, people!!

A Week’s Worth of Updates

I wanted to report on these little updates in separate posts but what with a couple of non-update posts and blog downtime ((sorry about that by the way, trying to move servers from my current to Reliq’s and there’s a combination of it having a strop and me being inept, there will be further downtime at the weekend)) I just haven’t had chance so here’s what I’ve been upto recently!

Main Who?

First and foremost, I’ve decided not to reroll. I’ve been back and forth a lot over the past few weeks, but as it turns out I’m still too comfortable with my delightful little Shadow Priest who has been my (on/off) main since early TBC and is the same character I played when I met Dan and Kait (who is my new boyfriend apparently). Also, when you’re trying to eat mid-Terrace of the Endless Springs LFR and it just happens to be the single worst LFR group you have ever been in ((no joke)) and you still have issues with the new flat laptop keyboard and the fact that 3 is next to w and Frost Orb is next to w and despite standing miles away it still heads over to the boss regardless while people are eating up after yet another wipe and then the finger pointing starts.. ahem. I do love her though, I just can’t reroll right now. Shadow Priest is just my thing this expansion. Blizzard have really fixed not only the dps, but also the playstyle. If you spec and glyph right, the playstyle becomes a lot more bursty and just so damn fun. Plus the self heals are amazing for soloing things.

The Cutest Little Rogue

In my Project Insanity post, I mentioned I’d started up a baby Rogue. Well here she is:

Isn’t she just adorable?! I have completely fallen in love with Lady Pandas and their [spazziness] ((I really tried to find a better word but this one just encapsulates what I’m trying to say so well)) , it really suits me down to the ground so when the option was between Human and Panda, and the unanimous vote fell to Panda (and one Gnome /shoo!), I didn’t put up any arguements. The name was a struggle as I’d been holding on to ‘Kalithe’ for my Rogue which is literally ‘Kali the’ and that just doesn’t scream Panda to me so I asked and Dan said Khili and it stuck. I love it! I slowly but surely worked my way through the Panda starting zone. I’ve done it before but found myself incredibly bored and just trying to make it end, so this time I soaked it in and found myself thoroughly enjoying it this time around.

I adore yaks. The yak cart gets me every time!

Insanity All Around – Hip Hip Arr!

We’ve also been trying our hands at the Love Dungeon but short of a couple of neck upgrades for my shiny 90s there hasn’t been a lot of luck. Plus I keep forgetting to do it because ugh effort. Still, it’s worth it purely for giving us the ability to say, “Anybody fancy the love dungeon? Space for two!” *giggle*

Along the lines of Project Insanity, we gained a fourth person – Flaps, a healer. So with our nice little farming spot in the Blacksmith hut in Booty Bay, we got ourselves up to friendly pretty quickly. With a couple other.. erm.. side events.. along the way. Not too long before we get honoured and can move on to the next part.

Hip hip… arr…

The Reputations That Need More Love

Last but not least, I’m back working on my Priest’s reputations. She was getting pretty close with Brood of Nozdormu and Hydraxion Waterlords so with any luck those two will be finished within the next few weeks finally! Mine and Rel’s foray into AQ40 was a lot of fun as well. As for the others, I’m doing my best to get my dailies done. Kait really helped keep me focused today by doing Shieldwall and August Celestials with me and prodding me to go do Anglers as well! Then I only had Klaxxi and Shado-Pan left so off I went and ta-da!

It’s taken me a long time but I’m so so happy! I adore this tiger mount model and I’ve been desperate for it since the first time I saw it. Sorry Swift Alliance Steed, you’ve been replaced.

Heroic Transmogging Achievement Runs

Oh! I almost forgot to mention the transmog runs we’ve done recently. My Hunter finally got her Illidan bow!! Squee. It suits her transmog set so nicely. And Monday night, 10 of us went off to do Bastion of Twilight HC and HC Dragon Soul. Bastion was cleared, netting us a guild achievement for Sinestra and the title ‘Dragonslayer’ which is awfully nifty. I do like dragons. Dragon Soul we got up to Spine before folk were itching to head off to bed. Hopefully we’ll have some fresh clears for transmog kit, further achievements towards the drake meta, and fun. I’m dying to get the heroic version of the Time Lord set for my Mage, I adore that set and missed out on the white version from LFR. I’m also really really hoping for the heroic tier 11 chest for my Priest’s transmog. I’m pretty sure that is my favourite robe ingame, or at least way up there.

One of many things I missed from not raiding in Cataclysm

So yes, we’re all up to date now. Back to business as usual and apologies for future downtime. We should be good until the weekend but the server move is going to go through. Ta-ta!

That New Content Feeling

Patch 4.3 couldn’t have come at a better time. With NaNoWriMo over and done with on Tuesday and my most recent book review written and published (that’s important because it took me a few hours to get right), I logged into my Priest happily to play around with void storage and do a few of the new 5 mans with the manface. Aren’t they great? While I was waiting, I got myself a Glyph of Shadow, which is awesome, and played around on my new horse. I was accused in guild of liking boys because I like the Tyrael’s Charger but I of course slapped that down with a great big, “Yes, I do like boys, and why does it matter?” And then continued to enjoy my pony.

The new instances gave me a distinctly familiar feeling. I’m awful at remembering the names because it has been so many months, but the first instance reminded me of one of the mid-level instances in Rift, the last part reminded me of the desert zone, and the third one reminded me of one of the later Rift instances. No, not being all, “They clearly copied Rift!” Just an observation. I loved them. They’re new content with new gear and the storyline is interesting. What’s not to love? Plus that second one has really made me appreciate Night Elf Shadow Priests…

And something seems a little off about Tyrande…

And how could I not include this one? Possibly my favourite of the new bosses and it looks freaking cool.

We did a few with the same Rogue and healer who we met in a pug and were both competent and friendly and that’s a pretty rare event. It’s always nice when you do get those kinds of pugs. I may have awwwed a little when the healer left with, “Nice to meet you.” I thought that was a little adorable.

I got myself a new wand, finally netting myself Cataclysmically Epic after a year.. though it did put my achievement points back into the 5s! And my first pair of dropped non-blue shoulders, and a helm, 2 rings, an offhand, and the tier 12 chest, getting me upto 369 ilvl from 361. I’ll be good for the raid finder in no time! Then today I picked up the staff from the last instance so I can finally use Anathema *squee* (and knock my ilvl upto 370 but that’s less important, right?). *strokes the pretty*

After, we ran through Black Temple with a friend and another guildy (the non-douchey variety, hooray), not only did I gain about 1,000 gold from that run but it was fun. We just finished a little later than hoped but oh well. I transmogged my gear fully and went off to bed.

I am absolutely in love with this set. I never got the chance to wear tier 4 when it was current because I was a Tailoring Shadow Priest *grumbles* and for those of you who weren’t around in Burning Crusade, the Shadoweave set (shoulders, chest, and boots) you made with tailoring was best in slot until tier 6. Obviously that’s just the shoulders but I do also have the robe in void storage.

How are you enjoying the new content? Or are you perhaps disappointed thus far?

Felt A Bit Of An Idiot, But..

Why is it that I only think of things to write and feel like writing them AFTER nano comes along and takes up such a large chunk of my time? Le sigh. I have a few in drafts at the moment, will try to find some time.. somewhere! In the meantime, I realised that rerolling is fun. Want to know why? Apparently there were 4 reputation mounts that I didn’t own. Remember when they added the Ochre Skeletal Warhorse and 3 level 20 mounts? Yeah, guess how many I needed for my 100 achievement? I’ll give you a clue:

Time For RNG To Stop Hating Me

And that’s a good start!

Thing I love the most about her? Turquoise tongue!!

I think I’ve spent an hour here and there in the past flying around but I’ve never solidly farmed it, when I woke up this morning around 6am and struggled to get back to sleep, I was in 2 minds over whether I should just get up and farm the Time Lost but alas, I was too comfy and went back to sleep after an hour or so. When I did get up, I headed straight for the Storm Peaks. Every once in a while I’d start flying around a bit but I mostly sat towards the top of Bor’s Breath, which is exactly where I was when my NPC Scan started flashing. I’d actually just popped downstairs to sort out the washing, so it had flown off a little by the time I saw it, but 310% mount + nobody around meant that I got lucky! Being a Shadow Priest helped immensely – I jumped off my mount, pressed Levitate, and Shadow Word Pain as fast as I could, shoved a couple of heals on myself and a shield and then kill and loot! It’s so gorgeous I can’t wait until it becomes a 310% mount in Cataclysm ((because I already have a 310% mount)) so that I can actually properly use it! Squee!

I think the 3 or 4 hours I sat waiting for it before it spawned made up a little for the year and a half of zero tiger mount luck. I believe it’s time I had a little more luck with mount RNG, I’m trying to get my collection up a bit and I’m only 4 off the 100, and the past few months I’ve seen nothing. I’m aiming for the Dragonhawk next from the Champion’s Seals and I’m fairly regularly doing the Polar Bear daily, Baron runs, and fishing for the turtle, as well as ZG resets. Yeah, there are a lot more I’m after but if I listed them, that wouldn’t be particularly interesting to read, so I’ll spare you and just say how bloody ecstatic I am.

Venomhide Ravasaur

The Venomhide Ravasaur is the Horde equivalent of the Winterspring Frostsaber. To get this you will have to do an opening quest to be poisoned 20 times, best to get naked and let it beat on you for a bit… and imagine that didn’t come out entirely wrong. In fact, forget I mentioned it. After being poisoned, you have to collect 4 eggs from nests in the same area. Following, you are given a quest to hand in 20 Runecloth, 20 Rugged Leather, and 20 Venomhide Baby Teeth. To collect the 20 teeth, there are four daily quests, which you do for twenty days to help your raptor grow. Each day you will be given one at random, to help your baby raptor grow, preparing it to be your mount.

Searing Roc FeathersSearing Roc Feathers, requires you to collect 5 Searing Roc plumage from the red birds seen above. These are the feathery adornments for the raptor mount.

Gorishi GrubGorishi Grub, wants you to go to the Slithering Scar in the centre of Ungoro and collect 10 Silithid Meat to feed the raptor.

Poached, Scrambled, Or Raw?Poached, Scrambled, Or Raw? If you go to the Silithid area of Tanaris, you can collect the 12 Silithid Eggs needed for this quest, also to feed the raptor. They aren’t hard to miss, big orange glowy round things dotted around the area.

Hungry, Hungry HatchlingHungry, Hungry Hatchling, an aptly named quest, as all the raptor seems to do is eat. This one needs you to collect 15 Dinosaur meat and feed it to the hatchling. This drops from any of the dinosaur type mobs in Ungoro, like the one above.

After a few days, you’ll notice your raptor grow. After 20 days you’ll be able to hand in the quest and receive your hard earned mount. Well, I suppose taking the Caverns of Time portal once a day and killing a few level 50 mobs isn’t that hard earned, but it’s still a nice achievement.

Two Parts

Part One

Sunreaver Dragonhawk

Isn’t it pretty? I got it yesterday after doing a buttload of Tournament dailies. I still have a few more things to aim for but this is by far the best!

Part Two

pug

So cute! IwantitIwantitIwantitIwantit.

Apparently it’s a reward for pugging, it will probably be a reward for a ‘complete 50 PUGs’ achievement, achieved by running random dungeons through the new dungeon system, and who doesn’t hate pugging, but this will definitely make it worthwhile.

Update: There has been a short video of the Perky Pug pet’s animations, click here if you want to see!

Faction Change Guide

I was personally excited to hear about Faction Change and Race Change services Blizzard announced to be implemented. Now that Faction Changes are available in the US and EU, I decided to lay down the basics.

First of all, these do not include a free server transfer and you can only change one character’s faction in one payment. Now that PvP realms allow you to have both Horde and Alliance on the same server, there are no server limitations. The only thing you are limited to is races, for hunters (see ‘Racials’), for example, you cannot switch from an Orc to a Gnome. This service comes with character customisation and an optional character name change. If you want to eventually change back to your original faction, you may choose a different race to the one you originally chose. Though bear in mind, Blizzard are working on race changes.

Faction specific items will be switched. You will not lose anything in the process. This includes, but is not limited to, gear, vanity pets, mounts, achievements, titles, reputation (a full list of faction counterparts can be found here). All quests and quest items will be reset, though restored if switched back to original faction. If, for example, you have completed every quest in Storm Peaks, you will keep the achievement, however, you will be able to redo the quests for money. Items which are not faction specific, i.e. Food and water, will be unaffected by the change.

Friends lists, ignore lists, guilds and arena teams, as expected, will be reset. You will be able to keep your earnt honour, arena points, marks, emblems, however pending arena points may be lost in the transaction. Bear in mind if you have any pending auctions or mail in your inbox that this will block the faction change. For a level 80 character, the gold limit is 20,000g, be sure to leave any additional on other characters or with friends if you’re feeling generous.

Another thing I have been lead to believe, as with a server transfer, any saved instances will be reset. If you cleared Ulduar on a Wednesday and faction changed on the Thursday, you should be able to clear it again before the end of the week. Though please don’t quote me on this.

Farming Netherwing Rep

So, I randomly decided to farm the Netherwing rep I never got around to doing in TBC. It’s 20 achievement points (with the exalted and the Skyshatter race) and a few mounts, as well as something to do. Me being the completionist I am anyway.

Aside from a couple of slip-ups with an irritating ret paladin in the mines, around about half past 3 (GMT) … the time he’d be coming home from school, it’s been going very well. I use my turtle to AoE farm the mines, hoping for Egg drops from the mobs, and skinning them for that silly skinning daily (this is also a very good place to farm the ore for the mining daily), and checking around for egg spawns as I go. Fly around the island checking for eggs, and then around the building on the mainland, checking on the ground, in crates, in buildings, behind drake riders. I find quite a lot of eggs doing this, and for herbalists, the island is a good place to complete the herbalism daily.

I also completed the hidden quests, one drops from the elite on the island, the flayer in the middle. It drops a hand which starts a quest to kill the slightly bigger flayer. Another is a drop in the Slime covered objects which drop from the Oozes in the mines after you hit friendly. The other is from a broken in the mine near the Netherdrake, which asks you to kill a few of the Murkblood in the caves. Along with these, the races are very good extra rep.

As well as these I do the regular dailies. The Booterang quest will always be one of my favourites. “Why it put Booterang on skin WHY?!” Just love to Booterang those orcs and then poison them, aren’t I lovely :P . Anyway, that’s pretty much all, just farm a lot of eggs and it takes no time at all.
